Paid Position Available: Licensed Architect/Engineer for N.Y. Ballot Initiative Commissioner

We are searching for a licensed mechanical engineer or architect who has extensive credentials, especially in construction of steel-framed buildings, for what would be a paid position as a Commissioner.

A group of activists/researchers in NYC are working to create a ballot initiative enabling city residents to vote in the Nov. 6th general election in favor of a new, independent investigation of 9/11.

As of now, international attorney Dr. William Pepper, former astronaut Edgar Mitchell, physics professor Dr. Steven Jones, Ret. Col. Robert Bowman, former senator Lincoln Chafee, Jersey widow Lorie Van Auken, Native American author/activist Splitting-the-Sky, investigative reporter Wayne Madsen, and executive director of the Bertrand Russell Tribunal, Ralph Schoenman, have agreed to participate as Commissioners.

We are searching for a licensed mechanical engineer or architect who has extensive credentials, especially in construction of steel-framed buildings, for what would be a paid position as a Commissioner. We'll also need others to serve as expert witnesses.

We are now gearing up for the petition drive which will require 30,000 signatures. Then the proposal/referendum gets presented to NY City Council for their approval. If they vote against it, then another 15,000 signatures will override their decision. Since all we are asking for is a new investigation which is desired by 66% of New Yorkers according to an Aug. '05 Zogby poll, plus the fact that we're in touch with some large organizations who will help, our task is very feasible.

Why is this effort necessary? A multitude of details have surfaced indicating the 9/11 Commission Report was nothing more than a restatement of the official account, rather than a true open-ended investigation which pursued all areas of inquiry. It began with a promise to give a full account of the events, then turned into an effort to avoid placing blame at all costs. To this day, no one has been held accountable. Additionally, 9/11 has been exploited to erroneously justify criminal acts of war abroad, police state measures at home, and used by the Bush neocons to create an imperial presidency. Now New Yorkers can take matters into their own hands. We can enable NYC voters to have the choice to create what the government has failed to do. Obtaining a new investigation of 9/11 is our right, and is our obligation to the cause for truth, transparency, and accountability in government. This will be truly historic.
