A Review of Her Artistic Book Fortunate

After a battle with brain cancer, likely induced by the toxic dust of the WTC on 9/11, accomplished sculptor, artist, and 9/11 truth seeker Janette MacKinlay continued her journey deeper into truth, passing away on December 9, 2010. We present a small collection of stories from her amazing heart-filled little book.

On 9/11/2001, Janette Mackinlay was living with her boyfriend Jim at 110 Liberty St – a building adjacent to the World Trade Center. Written eight years after the events of 9/11, combining imagery from the experience and selections from her prolific artwork with a personal and poignant narrative that is imbued with an artist’s sensibility, her book Fortunate: A Personal Diary of 9/11 persuasively conveys the shock, pain and tragedy of that day and its immediate aftermath. Her amazing graphic volume radiates sparks of hope and flames of triumph.

I wonder, as she did when she was writing her book, how to write about what seems beyond words.

After both planes had crashed into the Twin Towers, Janette and Jim called loved ones to let them know they were all right, and began to accept the sudden reality that they had ringside seats at a major historical event. They began to tidy up in case they had to evacuate, so they wouldn’t have to return home to a messy flat. When the destruction of the South Tower began, they barely had time to get into the hallway before their windows were blown in. The hallway surely saved them serious injury and perhaps saved their lives. As they tried to recover from the blast, the suffocating, deadly dust immediately started choking them. Janette would later provide a sample of this toxic dust to Dr. Steven Jones, who along with eight other researchers would find in it one of the most conclusive “smoking guns” of 9/11.

The AE911Truth Action Groups are small independent and autonomous groups of AE911Truth petition signers working together to plan and carry out local actions in support of the AE911Truth mission. The purpose is to raise the critical issues of AE911Truth, encourage people to sign the Petition (architects, engineers, and others), to conduct public events, to contact and educate government officials and the media, and generally raise awareness locally about the AE911Truth mission.

Almost any existing 9/11 truth activist group can also be an AE911Truth Action group! There is generally no conflict and you can continue doing what you do best. I.e., we would like to have all of the WeAreChange groups around the country also be listed on AE911Truth.org as AE911Truth Action groups. This will be a win-win because 6,000 people a day visit our website and many are looking for local affiliation - which could also build your group. hosted by Project Censored

On the stormy eve of November 9, Richard Gage, AIA, presented “9/11: Blueprint for Truth – The Architecture of Destruction” at one of his alma mater(s), Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, CA. The event was hosted by Project Censored, an organization that since 1976 has published an anthology of 25 of the most censored newsworthy articles of the year, highlighting significant issues that the corporate media has avoided.

Project Censored Director and event organizer Mickey Huff commented, “Though we are not a 9/11-centric organization, we at Project Censored believe the more recent scientific publications and research on problems surrounding the events of 9/11 are significant and should be part of the dialogue about controversial issues that should be a focus of any free press system. Richard Gage and the architects and engineers he represents are doing very important work exposing major flaws in the official accounting of the 9/11 tragedy in NYC. Based on their expertise, Gage and over 1300 A/E’s are demanding a new, transparent, scientific investigation based on all the available evidence. The fact that such stories have been mostly ignored by corporate mainstream media, or not taken seriously, is why Gage’s work is highlighted in story #14 by Shawn Hamilton of the top 25 in “Censored 2011” this year. As with all our stories each year, we hope this crucial subject makes its way into the public eye for serious consideration. Project Censored now has over 30 college and university affiliates contributing on its expanding website. Recently Project Censored itself has been censored by so-called “alternative” publications over its coverage of 9/11 Truth.”

No one at Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth could have envisioned the impact and ripple effect their work would have among fellow professionals and the general public in only three short years. Growing international interest coupled with multiple speaking engagements abroad by Richard Gage, AIA, soon underlined the need for AE911Truth to reach out in many languages besides English.

How many more millions will have the opportunity to see the WTC evidence when the 4-language version of 9/11: Blueprint For Truth hits the streets in 28 foreign countries?

The vision of branching out multilingually awakened the passions of Grazyna Samborska, AIA, who soon took the reins of this project to become its Team Leader. Ms. Samborska is a native of Poland who emigrated to the United States in 1986. Thanks to her hard work and to the unwavering commitment of Translation Team members Wibren Visser, Chuck Smith, and so many others, the Companion DVD to 9/11: Blueprint for Truth has now been translated into German, Italian, French, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese as voice-overs, and into many more languages (such as Dutch and Finnish) in the form of subtitles.

Just before 9:11 p.m. on Sept. 11, 2010, the ninth anniversary of the attack, Richard Gage, AIA, founder of Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth, watched as a two-billion-candlepower Third Beam of light shot into the NYC skyline – a brilliant reminder that a third WTC skyscraper, not hit by any airplane, fell on 9/11. Gage started a jubilant e-mail to AE911Truth members and supporters after the light burst into the sky: “The Third Beam went up without a hitch! … It was just awesome, Team!”

The purpose of the Third Light Beam was to break through the media blackout surrounding Building 7’s destruction and its censorship by the 9/11 Commission. As part of a related media blitz, AE911Truth distributed a call list for attendees at the concurrent INN World Report conference on “How the World Changed After 9/11” being held nearby, asking each to contact a designated mainstream media company with the question, “Why is there a third Beam of light in the New York City skyline tonight?!” According to participants, some stations responded unequivocally and without hesitation, “It’s for WTC 7!.”

Also that night, WBAI Radio (99.5 FM), Pacifica Radio’s Manhattan flagship station was called to alert its listeners to the historic Third Beam during the ninth anniversary call-in program. The station acknowledged: “The third beam represents the all-but-forgotten WTC Building 7 and its mysterious collapse, which really has never been fully explained.”
