Volunteers Keep the Wheels Turning at AE911Truth Print E-mail

On the home page of our website, AE911Truth.org, you may have noticed the tab near the top center that says, “Help out.”  If you open that page you will find descriptions of the teams at AE911Truth, and the current projects of these teams.

You can be in any state or any country, and still volunteer with AE911Truth.  Each of our teams keeps in touch via a weekly conference call, plus phone, email, and a web environment called Basecamp.  If you want to help us complete our mission -- obtaining a real investigation of the destruction of the 3 WTC high-rises, contact us -- as we need more volunteers.

We have teams working on congressional outreach, fundraising, graphics, marketing, the Online Store, presentations, public outreach, translations, video, writing and more.  There are even some opportunities to be a team leader. Let me introduce you to three very real volunteers who are contributing daily to our success. Here are Darcy Wearing, Marsha Elliott, and Sean Brizendine:

Darcy Wearing is a chef in Toronto, Ontario and thinks that volunteering for AE911truth is cool. This is how he described it:

When I first came on the team, after seeing Mr. Gage on the “Fifth Estate” program in Canada, I was proud to become a part of the presentation team, and excited to be a part of their weekly conference call. On these calls, we discuss upcoming presentations for all presenters and help prepare them, so they can be good representatives of AE911Truth at their speaking event.

Through that team, I found myself wanting to focus my energy on something in addition to the presentation topic. A need for a volunteer was announced, where the volunteer would call radio stations to try and arrange on-air interviews of Mr. Gage. I indicated an interest in helping in this way. The next thing I knew, an email arrived with a long list of radio stations, over one thousand. My job was to say just enough about the overwhelming, compelling evidence of controlled demolition at the three WTC towers, that the stations would be willing to schedule an interview. It has taken some time, but I have managed to e-mail all of them, and have followed up with about 200 calls. Through that, we have had a number of live radio interviews. We estimate these interviews have reached large numbers of people who have never even heard an alternate opinion on 9/11. (I prefer using the word opinion because I don’t like using the word theory for this.)

As I found these volunteer tasks very enjoyable, I then joined the writing team as well, where I was privileged to interview former CDI employee Tom Sullivan. He used to place the charges on the primary joints of high-rise buildings, a part of the preparation of these structures for demolition. I also wrote an article on the Canadian tour, for which Mr. Gage and Dr. David Ray Griffin came through Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal. This was extremely cool for me at the Toronto event, as I got to eat dinner with both of them while we sat a discussed 9/11 truth. We then arrived at the venue together, where some friends and I helped Mr. Gage set up for his presentation, and helped staffing the table where we sold merchandise from the store.

When Darcy was asked for a photo of himself to go with this article, he immediately offered this photo of him with Richard Gage, AIA, in Toronto.

    Continuing with Darcy’s story:

Shortly before the Toronto venue, I was asked to be the Assistant Volunteer Coordinator, as I get to call people from all over the U.S., Canada and sometimes even internationally, speaking with all kinds of different professionals about the truth of 9/11. This is probably the coolest thing I do for the organization.

The final team I joined is so far my favorite, the video team. We are currently in the process of interviewing 40 to 50 professionals, including physicists, scientists, engineers, and psychologists. We obtain their professional opinions in their specialty areas pertaining to the building destructions and the ramifications as these affect various categories of individuals. A DVD on these interviews is going to be called "Witness for Truth: Experts Speak Out.” This is going to be above and beyond any DVD that has been made to date.

The other great reason for being a volunteer is, this is a subject that is very hard to reach people with, very challenging. For myself, it is a great outlet for my thoughts and opinions. I’m quite sure I couldn’t find another cause and organization out there as stimulating and with as important a mission, and with others in it who would be as passionate as I find that I am, until I found AE911Truth. I recommend this to everyone.

Whether you want to put in a couple of hours a week or a lot more, there are teams that need your help.  There are tens of millions of people we still need to reach and persuade.  The best suggestion is one that you actually volunteer to take an action on, and then to make happen.

Marsha Elliott is an environmental engineer from the San Francisco Bay Area with over 20 years of experience working as an environmental professional.  Marsha says:

I had to step up to the plate and get more involved.   This is a critical time.  We must continue to raise awareness and it's up to each of us to do what we can.  I’m now managing the Fundraising Team -- a role which I had to grow into very quickly.  That’s how it is here.  We pick up the pieces and move forward.  It’s a mission and each person's role is vital.  It’s not always perfect, but we all believe deeply in what we are doing and know that we must keep going until our mission is fully realized.

Sean Brizendine is from Santa Rosa, CA and is the Verification Team Leader. Sean notes:

I joined Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth as a volunteer on the Verifications Team in August 2009. Over the last 10 months I have worked with some of the most amazing individuals I have met in my life, including Richard Gage, AIA. My team has been responsible for the verification of over 500 A/E's, and more than 3,000 "other" supporters. We go to great lengths to verify the credentials of all A/E's, foreign and domestic, and take great pride in establishing the legitimacy of their verified status.

Sean likes to work as part of a team. He says of this:

We encourage everyone that signs the petition to get involved with us as a volunteer and to become a Sustaining Supporter (those who give monthly financial contributions). We work as a team and make decisions as such. We encourage feedback and welcome debate. I am truly grateful to be a part of something that in my opinion is the most important issue of our era. Our volunteers come from all different parts of the world, with different cultures and political views, but the one thing that we all have in common is AE911Truth.

AE911Truth is going into new territory in a few ways now with several new projects – such as our AE911Truth Action Groups that we will be rolling out across the country next month.  It is an exciting time to be a part of this organization.  You really will have opportunities to have input into what we do and how we do it.

To volunteer, please write to volunteer [at] ae911truth.org. Tell us your skills, interests and talents and how you would like to apply those to help us.  Think about how many hours a week you can afford to devote to AE911Truth -- and then just make it happen!  Thanks and I’ll see you on the conference call.
