Given the mainstream news media problems, most Americans are underinformed on 9/11 related news.

In America, it has long been recognized that the best ideas survive the test of time after being fully and properly vetted in the marketplace of ideas.

The founders of our great nation, recognizing the importance of this concept, strove to protect it by incorporating the protective mechanisms of free speech and free press into the First Amendment of our Constitution. The founders recognized that the dream of a free America could only be fulfilled if there is a robust exchange of ideas and mechanisms to protect the marketplace.

Where do you draw the line separating "fringe conspiracy theory" from "mainstream phenomenon"? We're not sure, but if one-third of the populace isn't the mainstream it's at least a significant tributary of it.

According to a 2006 Scripps-Howard poll, over a third of Americans believe high-ranking officials either helped commit the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, or at least allowed them to happen. Other polls report even greater levels of cynicism.

San Francisco architect Richard Gage sees the National Institute of Standards and Technology's current position on 9-11 as an absurd "smoke and mirrors" show that further reveals that NIST never inquired about how the World Trade Center's twin towers were destroyed on 9/11/01, and that NIST admits to not having any answers on what actually caused the "global collapse."

The official explanation of the total destruction of the World Trade Center skyscrapers has explicitly failed to address the massive evidence for explosive demolition... found only in controlled demolitions.

On September 11, 2001 the world was shocked and horrified as our nation was attacked by terrorists. Nearly 3,000 people were killed in the plane crashes and the collapses of the World Trade Center towers.

The attacks have been used to justify huge increases in defense spending, the invasions of two other countries, and sweeping reductions in our cherished civil liberties.
