Richard Humenn, P.E., WTC Chief Electrical Engineer, Ret.

Richard Humenn, holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from the Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute. After graduating in 1954, Humenn worked for Joseph R. Loring & Associates for 41 years. He was the principal chief electrical engineer for the seven buildings in the World Trade Center complex. After construction of the Twin Towers was completed, Loring took over conceptual maintenance and improvements for the various elevator systems, which allowed Humenn to gain in-depth knowledge of these systems, including the interior structure that surrounded the elevator shafts.
