To the Members of the House of Representatives and of the Senate of the United States of America,
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT:
On Behalf of the People of the United States of America, the undersigned Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth and affiliates hereby petition for, and demand, a truly independent investigation with subpoena power in order to uncover the full truth surrounding the events of 9/11/01 – specifically the collapses of the World Trade Center Towers and Building 7. We believe there is sufficient doubt about the official story and therefore the 9/11 investigation must be re-opened and must include a full inquiry into the possible use of explosives that might have been the actual cause of the destruction of the World Trade Center Twin Towers and Building 7.

I have experience with concrete, timber, masonry, light gauge steel, structural steel design and structural observation in both new and existing structures.

Without a truly independent commission, speculation will remain rampant and conspiracy theory(ies) flourish. It would be even less likely that those responsible will be brought to justice if we can't agree on what brought the buildings down.

I became interested in a possible cover up of the true nature of the collapse of the WTC towers after reading some of Dr. Steven Jones research on the matter. Dr. Jones was an archeologist/physicist at BYU before resigning due to the controversial nature of his research into the 9/11 attacks. BYU had no desire to have their name associated with controversial topics of political nature, as I'm sure it is something most institutions would seek to avoid. Dr. Jones makes a compelling case for controlled demolition on the WTC towers.

At 1.8 million square feet, WTC 7 was possibly larger than any building on the West Coast. Bank of America (1.4 million sf) and the Transamerica Pyramid (.5 million sf), the two highest buildings in San Francisco, are together only slightly greater in area. Few Americans know that WTC 7 collapsed, even fewer know how big it was. I have read that its collapse was shown only one time on television; in its documentaries about the WTC collapse, PBS not only didn't explain the collapse of WTC7 but never even mentioned the collapse of a third building, because doing so would have undermined their conclusion that planes and jet fuel were responsible for the collapses. Much evidence exists of explosions throughout the WTC buildings. Persistent pools of 2000 degree metal can only be explained by the presence of thermite/thermate, used in planned demolitions. Squibs, puffs of smoke characteristic of planned demolitions, can be clearly seen in advance of the collapses. The official story does not explain the collapse of WTC7 or the collapse of the cores of WTC 1 and 2. YouTube videos of a BBC reporter announcing the collapse of WTC7 just prior to its actual collapse is convincing proof that the authorities had advance knowledge of its imminent collapse. There is just one explanation for the evidence associated with these collapses: demolition by expertly planned and placed explosives.

I believe the official story defies my experience. Based on my years of structural experience, and after my study of videos of the collapse of the twin towers and building 7, I believe the events of September 11, 2001 could not have occurred as stated. From videos of the collapse of building 7, the penthouse drops first prior to the collapse, and it can be noted that windows, in a vertical line, near the location of first interior column line are blown out , and reveal smoke from those explosions. This occurs in a vertical line in symmetrical fashion an equal distance in toward the center of the building from each end. When compared to controlled demolitions, one can see the similarities.

In my opinion, what happened at the WTC on 11 Sep 2001 cannot be the result of 2 planes slamming into the towers and 3 towers collapsing. If that version of the events, as described by the 9/11 Commission is true, then as engineers, we must immediately put an end to our activities, and proceed to bring down all the buildings in the world, as they are wholly unsafe. Furthermore, that is also an indictment on the education we received in applied physics.

I have been hanging heavy rigs over many performers' heads for many years. I have worked as head rigger for major theme parks and worked over the heads of some of the world's biggest stars I understand point loads, distributed loads shock loads and shear. I understand the relationship of structures and sub-structures.
I saw the collapse of the buildings on a giant video screen in a ballroom in Orlando. I felt that there was something wrong with the way all 3 of the buildings fell when I was watching it happen and have clung to the suspicion that there was much more to the story than was being told. I have made an extensive study of steel from the 18th century to the present. In order for these three Towers to collapse vertically and evenly as we see them do, there can be no doubt at all that the vertical steel sections must be severed at precisely timed intervals progressively from top to bottom. I find the evidence presented in your film and in other material totally convincing. What horrifies and amazes me is that the extreme skill and dedication of the perpetrators of this immense crime should have been so perverted as to make the existence of such unalloyed evil in any group of human beings quite incomprehensible to the ordinary man.
