On Behalf of the People of the United States of America, the undersigned Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth and affiliates hereby petition for, and demand, a truly independent investigation with subpoena power in order to uncover the full truth surrounding the events of 9/11/01 – specifically the collapses of the World Trade Center Towers and Building 7. We believe there is sufficient doubt about the official story and therefore the 9/11 investigation must be re-opened and must include a full inquiry into the possible use of explosives that might have been the actual cause of the destruction of the World Trade Center Twin Towers and Building 7.

I defer to the experts in the field. However, I do have a solid theoretical background in the fundamentals of engineering, physics and chemistry. My relevant education includes basic undergraduate courses in physics, chemistry, thermodynamics, materials science, psychology and neuropsychology. I have understanding and respect for the scientific method: the method of following the evidence wherever it may lead without prejudice or bias, to arrive at scientifically-derived conclusions, no matter how unpopular or politically incorrect they may or may not be. Science influenced by politics is not pure science; it is pseudo-science. Pure science MUST be apolitical, meaning independent of political influence at every stage. This is always a challenge for professionals, but an ideal worth striving for, both for the integrity of the discipline of science, and for the service of science to humanity.
I first learned of the twin tower collapses on one of the major TV news networks. My personal experience was one of surrealism. It felt more like a dream than reality. Immediately, the names that came to mind were Bin Laden, and Al Quada, and some time later I realized that I had been psychologically primed by the media with this information. I originally believed the story told by the mainstream media and government officials that very hot jet fuel fires caused the steel to melt and collapse. But I think subconsciously I had some reservations that the buildings could collapse at free-fall acceleration, and fall so neatly into their own footprints. I had seen demolition videos before, and the similarity was not lost on me. Many years went by and I began to see inside job bumper stickers, and internet images and stories, the first of which was the BBC story claiming that the Soloman Brothers Building (WTC 7) had collapsed even though it was allegedly visible in the background. After posting this on Facebook as a curiosity, I was contacted by a friend who had been following 9/11 truth for some time. I began my own informal research effort studying internet materials, tempered by my understanding of scientific phenomena and engineering principles. The more I researched, the more it became clear that the official story was not believable, and much of the 9/11 truth information was very plausible and realistically a much more likely explanation of events. There is much evidence to consider: eyewitness accounts of explosions, large volumes of molten metal observed streaming from at least one building both before and after its collapse, large quantities of residual heat, discovery of steel microspheres, discovery of unreacted thermite, the physics of free fall requiring zero vertical support and thus requiring ALL steel support columns to be severed simultaneously, no history of modern steel building collapses due to fire, WTC 1, 2 & 7 all collapsing in a similar manner despite differences in building structure and in structural damage, black smoke indicating a lack of oxygen and a relatively cool fire apparently not hot enough to melt steel in the volumes observed, the buildings being designed to withstand airplane impact of 10% higher kinetic energy, evidence that the government ignored warnings, and so much more... I believe the evidence supporting the case for controlled demolition is overwhelming. There are also compelling means, motive and opportunity for nefarious elements in government to carry out such an attack. At least one experimenter with videos on youtube has shown that a thermite charge placed on a steel bolt is an effective and efficient means of destruction, and offers a plausible explanation of events, and is consistent with the WTC evidence.

Not only the impact of the planes and sudden fall of the towers (including a 3rd not related with the impacts) but how it was all narrated by the mass media: it was like a film, not journalism. Nobody on TV or press made questions about all the inconsistencies between the official version and the real images everybody saw on 9/11. And some things did not match.Three or four years after (I was then in the Engineering School) I randomly read something on internet about the truth movements and I started to look for alternative sources about the attacks that lead me to further news, reports and videos pointing out many of the black holes occurred during the 9/11 events. And that's how I found AE911. And that made the whole sense for me: people with similar degrees I was studying were giving rational facts and using science to try to understand how it could happen. Nowadays, the most astonishing to me is how the scientific method was deliberately trashed in the official investigation and nothing happened. Like if there was an only 1 possible predefined interpretation and what did not fit in it, it simply did not exist. Are these the lessons learned for the future generations? Not to pursue the truth at all costs but create it. If our thoughts annoy our government, better to shut up or you'll be treated like an insane person. No matter what you do, it won't be useful. Sit down and swallow the news.

If there was a point of failure the building would have toppled asymmetrically and not at free fall speed as the supports below the fires would not have melted. Bones and dust were scattered many blocks away and a collapse does not support this but an explosion would explain it. Why not investigate how the terrorists planted the explosives in the building beforehand? Why not test the dust for thermite or nano-thermite? I would like to know the truth of what has happened. I have moved out of the United States and have converted my dollars to other currency until I can trust those in power again.

Pure physics and basic structural engineering fundamentals prove that these buildings would not collapse at an accelerated rate (i.e.due to gravity) without the structural members below being completely disintegrated. The structural members would normally resist the forces of the floors above UNLESS they were destroyed by means far greater than heat produced by burning jet fuel. Structural collapses are typically slow to start and are not as uniform as collapses resulting from controlled detonations, which is likely the cause of these collapses.

Inventor, designer, and owner of manufacturing business. My company processes 250 to 300 tons of steel and other materials annually into manufactured products, mainly for the agriculture industry. My company utilizes a variety of materials processing technologies including: laser cutting, plasma cutting, shearing, machining, welding, and heavy pressing in the thousands of tons. The steel structural materials, of which the world trade center buildings were made, are very similar to the materials we process. Age 61, 35 years experience.
Popular explanations of the collapse of the world trade center buildings seem to ignore the structural roll of columns. The public television production, Nova entirely left out the core columns of the building in their animation of the collapse, focusing our attention on floor pancaking, as though the floors are the structure that support the building. Even a slight understanding of how much force it would take to telescope the columns of these buildings all the way to ground level and beyond, makes the official explanation laughable. The same is true of the heat generated by an oxygen starved fire in weakening the high strength structural steel to the point collapse. Only explosives could have reduced these three buildings to their own footprint in so short a time. We are witnesses of this crime; it was done in broad daylight and many of us saw it on live TV; yet, most of us still don't know what we saw.

My career in aviation spanned 38 years. As a pilot and Certified Flight Instructor, I specialized in the most basic concepts of flight which I have long since found is woefully absent from most flying curricula. As an ATCS, I earned OTJ Instructor and OJT Examiner ratings. I have worked in an Air Traffic Control Tower, a Radar Control Facility, an Automated Flight Service station, an air traffic data processing facility (as a system analyst), and in private industry, I worked in an Automated Flight Service Station Hub.
First, as a certified flight instructor, I can say that no pilot with the experience level of the so-called hijackers could have possibly flown ANY of the three flights that struck their targets. As far as collapses of steel structures with enormous amounts of steel re-inforced concrete throughout the structure, I can say that, since 911, I have aquired many, many photographs of such steel structures that burned more than 10 and more than 20 hours at far higher temperatures with far, far less billowing smoke (meaning a hotter and a more well fueled fire). None of these buildings ever collapsed. More importantly, as it clearly visible in the second strike against the South WTC tower, most of the aircraft fuel was expended in the initial contact with the building. And just as liquid jet fuel (kerosene) was observed in the North Tower raining down through the elevator shafts, any kerosene that was not initially ignighted was of little threat to what is possibly the most re-inforced steel structures ever built. Lastly, the famous video of the first airplane to strike the North WTC tower was filmed by the Naudet brothers who, by chance, just happened to be in a place where they would film the alleged B767 striking the North Tower. These brothers also happened to be the perfect position to film the second strike of an alleged B767 sticking the South Tower. However, in BOTH CASES, the Naudet brothers DID NOT film the aircraft in flight, rather, they focused (quite literally) on the strike point that these aircraft would eventually hit. And, as I have been informed, the Naudet brothers were later in the perfect spot to film the collapse of WTC7 which suffered no serious damage prior to its perfect, state-of-the-art collapse into the exact footprint that it architects drew on their original blue prints. And as a final note, although I never acted as an ATCS in an ARTCC (commonly known as an air traffic control center), I am well aware of the responsibilities of these air traffic facilities when an aircraft loses both radio and radar communication. There is no way I could EVER conceive that even a SINGLE passenger jetliner would proceed as long as the first aircraft did, let alone four aircraft. In short, IT DID NOT HAPPEN! Please review 3 ten minute videos that I believe show the most likely scenario of 911 as well as an in depth expose of the Naudet videos that just happened to have had the best shots of the two strikes on the TwinTowers and was also focusing on the collapse at the very moment that the building inexplicable collapsed, and from the best angle that anyone could have wished for to take that video.

I find it staggering that anybody believes the lies published by the official WTC collapse report. Owner of WTC admits publicly that they pulled building 7. Pulled means controlled detonation. Controlled detonations take months sometimes years of planning and permitting before they actually drop a building. Building 7 came down the same day just hours after the collapse of 1 and 2. This would only have been possible if the building was already rigged to go. Its doubtful that even the most skilled demo team could have or would have rigged a building that fast and brought it down. Correct me if I am wrong but structural steel needs temperatures of more than 2000 F to weaken or melt. JP8 or common aircraft fuel burns at around 900 F No building in history, even after hours of intense burning, has ever fell down because of the heat. The WTC towers were built to withstand just such an impact from a large passenger airliner, I recall that they were built to withstand a direct hit from an even larger plane than the ones that hit them on 9/11.

As a leader in the fire rated glass and metal systems supply I have witnessed and performed many tests to ASTM E119. For 20+ years we have developed, manufactured and supplied fenestration and framing systems with up to 2 hour ratings. Having a pilot scale oven and running the time/temp curve in development of new products I know how steel performs. I was one mouse click away from being on Flight 93 so it only seemed right to fight what I knew could not be.

I believe, beyond reasonable doubt, that WTC buildings 1,2 and 7 were brought down by controlled demolition. I think the most crucial piece of evidence of this demolition lies in building 7 and its 'collapse'. To fall at near free-fall speed into its own footprint as a result of spot fires is very questionable, and requires an investigation. The fact it was not mentioned in the 911 commission report is absurd and questions need to be asked. I am also concerned why the molten metal found in the debris (all 3 buildings) found 3-4 weeks after the collapses was also not mentioned in the commission report. The official 'pancake' theory is also questionable. Why don't we see the floors stacked up on each other? How did debris collide into neighboring buildings? Why aren't the core columns still standing? Why didn't the top section of the north tower fall to the ground as 1 unit when momentum suggested it should? A comprehensive, independent investigation is needed.

We have all seen scores of films of buildings being demolished by experts who have spent years developing how to do this. It doesn't take a degree in engineering to know what this looks like and how it would be different than any other event. There is a clear particular signature to a demolition. If there is something about the nature of the design and construction of these three buildings that would allow them to perform the magic trick, of the appearance of being a building demolition, than this would clearly be of prime importance to the world architectural community to figure out how this slight of hand actually occurred. NIST has admitted that WTC7 fell at free fall acceleration for 2,25 seconds. That means that about 8 floors of metal and concrete were removed instantaneously and symmetrically. Only explosive demolition could have brought about such a collapse. FEMA and NIST have been unable to explain the mechanism by which WTC1 and WTC2 have collapsed (the 'pancake theory' set forth by FEMA has been denied by NIST). Again, the only possible explanation for the collapse of these two buildings is by explosive demolition.

The NIST report regarding the collapse of WTC 7 does not agree with my understanding of the laws of physics from my university physics courses. Another thorough, open investigation is needed.

The entire scenario of how the buildings fell especially the height and rate of fall does not correlate to any know demolition except for a controlled or planned demolition. I also can not accept the findings of the 911 commission due to the absence of critical data such as thermite presence and witnesses who claim there was an explosion before the planes hit. WTC7 is a complete mystery all its own. This country, the victims and the survivors deserve better than what has been furnished and it should be viewed as treason to expect the public to swallow this entire situation as it has been presented by our government.

Work areas have included, building foundations, road pavements, dams, drilling investigation, slope stability analysis and construction supervision of rock and soil cuttings.
The collapse mechanism / sequence of all three buildings is of great interest considering that the official 'story' is that the superstructure of each of the buildings was damaged principally by fire and the in the case of the twin towers also in part by plane impact. In my opinion, as a professional engineer, these factors could only act to weaken the structures asymmetrically, which in turn would lead to asymmetric failure modes - ie at least some signs of toppling which when initiated would continue. Instead, the extensive footage from the day shows a complete, symmetrical drop in all three cases. This lack of asymmetry in all three failures coupled with the rate of failure (comparable to gravitational acceleration) suggest that the entire superstructure of all three buildings ceased to bear load almost instantaneously. From my knowledge of the US government reports, these issues are in no way dealt with. Other explanations, such as the possible role of pre-placed explosives, must be considered, as the official version is inadequate. In particular, the failure of Building 7 so closely resembles that of a controlled demolition it is extremely difficult for me simply accept that a number of fires within the building was the sole cause of it's collapse. The evidence presented by the remains of the collapsed buildings also requires careful consideration. The abundance of pulverized concrete and segmented steel beams /columns resulting from all three collapses is of particular interest. As a qualified engineer these are the principal issues which are of interest to me when considering the validity of the official explanation of the WTC collapses.

Engineering is a discipline that relies on verifiable facts, not unsupportable opinions or statements clearly designed to hide the facts. The physical mechanisms and forces causing the THREE WTC buildings to collapse at an acceleration approaching 9.8 m/s2 must be explained through engineering principles. The intentional avoidance of this issue in the formal 9-11 commission's report, and the lack of any reference to the WTC7 demolition, is evidence of a deliberate cover-up.

The second tower was not a direct hit to the infrastructure of the building. Most of the kerosene went out the side and back of the building. I could not believe that this event would have caused this building to be the first to fall when the core of the structure was not hit. Watching the towers fall reminded me of a typical pulled building that you would see during a standard demolition. Watching the top of the tower move after it was going to tip over back into fall position required another force much stronger to upright the tower to provide it to fall through the center. This is typical of demolition charges bringing the center back into alignment.

Collapse of WTC-7 is prima facie controlled demolition. I have seen no alternative explanation, including that of NIST, that is even remotely plausible, given the visual evidence. NIST's continuing refusal even to examine the possibility of the obvious casts the gravest doubt upon the integrity of that institution, (or at least its management) and certainly upon the scientific probity of the NIST study participants. As to WTC 1 & 2, my military experience, coupled with some modest hands-on experience with high explosives, has given me a sense of how things behave when energetically disassembled. I find that the use of high-energy thermitic materials as suggested by Harrit, Jones et al., possibly accompanied by use of more conventional substances such as RDX, C-4, etc. provides a far more persuasive explanation of the observations, including molten iron/steel, powdered concrete etc. etc., than any plausible gravitational-collapse scenario. (Total-energy requirements alone eliminate gravity as more than a secondary input to the buildings' destruction).

I believe it is impossible for the three buildings to collapse in an identical form to what is achieved by pulling the building, as is the jargon used by demolition experts. I'm sure that if we could develop the perfect lie-detector it would be of value to interview President Bush, Rumsfeld and others who were involved in operations at a high level. Perhaps now that sufficient time has elapsed for people to be less intimidated, we could have a more meaningful investigation.

I am not an Architect and not a member of your group, but I have been a member of ny9/11truth, ny9/11t-action and nyccan.org for the past 6 years. I have collected many signatures for the 9/11 Ballot Initiative here in NYC for a new independent investigation of 9/11. Unfortunately our hard work and determination were slighted when the 70 000 signatures were eliminated by the NY City Clerk, thus gagging the voices of 70 000 New Yorkers. I am German born but a naturalized US citizen, traveled all over the world as a PAA in flight purser, retired now, but not retired to do everything in my power to get the truth out about 9/11.
My initial response to the collapse of the towers and building 7 into their footprints was that no building would collapse in this fashion having been hit by a plane. Building 7 in particular was strange, as it was not struck by a plane, and the fires that one could see smoldering and not raging were not enough to bring the building down in such a fashion. For a while I was in denial, but then I heard Dr. David Ray Griffin speak here in NY at a 9/11truth meeting and he convinced me that not all of what our government had been telling us was true. After that I continued reading, especially the scientific data and became an active member in ny9/11truth.

The official story of the collapse of these buildings is not believable to anyone with a working knowledge of construction. It is in the interests of all building professionals to get to the bottom of this. I would urge all professional bodies to swing their authority behind a call for a detailed and comprehensive investigation of the facts. There is something seriously wrong here.
