The AE911Truth Petition
To the Members of the House of Representatives and of the Senate of the United States of America,
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT:
On Behalf of the People of the United States of America, the undersigned Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth and affiliates hereby petition for, and demand, a truly independent investigation with subpoena power in order to uncover the full truth surrounding the events of 9/11/01 – specifically the collapses of the World Trade Center Towers and Building 7. We believe there is sufficient doubt about the official story and therefore the 9/11 investigation must be re-opened and must include a full inquiry into the possible use of explosives that might have been the actual cause of the destruction of the World Trade Center Twin Towers and Building 7.

Consulting civil/structural engineer with over 22 years in private practice (39 years total). My experience ranges from custom residential to heavy industrial structures. Some of my major project involvements include: lead civil/structural engineer on a $700 million project for the US Air Force, structural design engineer for a 41,000 sq. ft. pulp machine building, and resident engineer on a 550 MW Natural-gas fired power plant.Idaho PE, 1980Idaho SE, 1990California PE, 1987BSCE, 1976, University of Colorado, Denver/Boulder, COProfessional Affiliations:Member, American Concrete Institute (ACI)Member, American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)Charter member, Structural Engineering Instititute (SEI)Professional member, American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC)
I began having doubts about the official explanations for the collapse of the WTC towers soon after the explanations surfaced. The gnawing question that lingers in my mind is: how did the structures collapse in near-symmetrical fashion when the apparent precipitating causes were asymmetrical loading? The collapses defy common logic from an elementary structural engineering perspective. If you accept the argument that the fire protection covering was damaged to such an extent that structural members in the vicinity of the aircraft impacts were exposed to abnormally high temperatures, and if you accept the argument that the temperatures were high enough to weaken the structural framing, that still does not explain the relatively concentric nature of the failures.Neither of the official precipitating sources for the collapses, namely the burning aircraft, were centered within the floor plan of either tower; both aircraft were off-center when they finally came to rest within the respective buildings. This means that, given the foregoing assumptions, heating and weakening of the structural framing would have been constrained to the immediate vicinity of the burning aircraft. Heat transmission (diffusion) through the steel members would have been irregular owing to differing sizes of the individual members; the temperature in the members would have dropped off precipitously the further away the steel was from the flames'''just as the handle on a frying pan doesn''t get hot at the same rate as the pan on the burner of the stove. These factors would have resulted in the structural framing furthest from the flames remaining intact and possessing its full structural integrity, i.e., strength and stiffness.Structural steel is highly ductile; when subjected to compression and bending it buckles and bends long before reaching its tensile or shear capacity. Under the given assumptions, if the structure in the vicinity of either burning aircraft started to weaken, the superstructure above would begin to lean in the direction of the burning side. The opposite, intact, side of the building would resist toppling until the ultimate capacity of the structure was reached, at which point, a weak-link failure would undoubtedly occur. Nevertheless, the ultimate failure mode would have been a toppling of the upper floors to one side, much like the topping of a tall redwood tree, not a concentric, vertical collapse. For this reason alone, I rejected the official explanation for the collapse of the WTC towers out of hand. Subsequent evidence supporting controlled, explosive demolition of the two buildings is more in keeping with the observed collapse modalities and only serves to validate my initial misgivings as to the causes for the structural failures.

I find no historical or factual evidence to support the official theory of a pancake collapse due to a gas fire. Studying video footage of these towers being destroyed, I do not see a normal demolition collapse. Something totally new happened here: 200,000+ tons of steel de-molecularized and instantaneously turned into powder in mid-air. Why doesn't the steel hit the ground as in a normal demolition? Where are all the concrete and steel decking floors stacked up on the ground, as in a normal demolition? Where is the 70-story steel antenna spire and the football field of core elevator columns in the pile of debris for either tower? I challenge anyone to review the video footage while asking themselves these questions. Beyond obvious demolition techniques, what new technology is being used here? 90,000+ tons of concrete and 200,000+ tons of steel do not just disappear in midair, and float way as dust' yet that is what the video footage reveals. Matter doesn't just disintegrate. Why isn't the paper littering the streets of Manhattan burnt to a crisp?' how is it that organic matter of (paper) was not affected as the mountains of steel, concrete, office furniture, plumbing, electrical, mechanical units' all turned to dust? More questions remaining unanswered by the official story include: The non-resistance free-fall timing of the disintegrations, pictures of the diagonally molten cut base columns (used to 'walk' a building during demolition), unexplained basement explosions, the appearance of molten steel pouring out of the windows during the disintegrations, thermal evidence of molten steel in the rubble a weeks after the event, a pyroclastic cloud engulfing the island and leaving it 4inches deep in dust, the findings of an unknown substance of nano-thermite, and the collapse of Building Seven in a more traditional demolition-style freefall without significant fire or structural reason. These officially unexplained things are outside the natural laws of physics of a simple gas fire, especially for steel structures designed to withstand larger, multiple jetliner impact and structural fires. It would be interesting to follow the money-trail: were the buildings outdated, losing money, up to code, an environmental hazard costing more to fix than just tear down? Do we dare ask ourselves... Have we overlooked a profitable reason(s) for a secret demolition? To catalog the unfurling worldwide events since this day in 2001, I think a light must be held to the darkness and the question must be asked of those who have gained from this event, and what new technology coupled with nano-explosives can de-molecularize matter in mid-air? Why isn't the 70-story steel antenna spire and football field of elevator core steel columns of each tower in the piles on the ground? How has all this matter been turned to dust in midair? Literally.

I believe that the buildings were intentionally brought down by pre-planted explosives and that the public was deceived by the use of non commercial jets. Building #7 is the Achilles heel, where you can here the count down to raze it, but it was not hit by any jet or missile. Also the Pentagon was not hit by a 767 or 757; there is just not enough of a hole in the building. I believe that it was a small cruise missile or other type of weapon.

35+ years in engineering/construction industry - design/detailing, project engineering/mgmt, liaison-owner rep/field coordination. 1990-summa cum laude grad of KSU College of Engineering's Construction Science & Mgmt program. Studied not only physics, strength of materials and fundamental engineering sciences, but also structural design of concrete, timber and steel. Last 15 years have been self-employed as GC-remodeling-handyman. Love compassionate, humane people and a litany of animals, which very well may be my salvation - and certainly a blessing. I aspire to live by what I know as 'Jesus-sanity' in my heart & soul.
The fundamental laws of materials and physics are categorically, overwhelmingly subverted by the 'official story' - as any truly academic-minded person surely knows if they have allowed their mind to consider/examine/test 'data' methodically. Richard Gage and others have done respectful jobs presenting so many obvious contradictions - and I applaud them. My genuine, enthused knowledge of all things 1687-Newtonian, coupled with awareness and wisdom I've acquired through the good graces of wise sages/mentors - as well as through completion of many proving-ground practicums in the 'school of hard knocks' - has forever relegated me to the contingent of those who not only question...but emphatically refuse to accept the official story. Besides the elementary, fatal flaw of that 'story' instantly and irrefutably outed by the freefall-speed collapse of all three skyscrapers - I'm troubled by apparent lack of attention to and scientific respect for some other digitally archived evidentiary issues. After the JP8 fuel was consumed and the fires were oxygen/fuel starved (clearly so by virtue of the billowing, black plumes of smoke emitting from both Tower 1 and 2), at the moments just before collapses began - there were clearly significant, circumferential rings of explosions manifested in huge yellow/orange/red fireballs that erupted through the clouds of pulverized concrete that appeared so suddenly. What were the sources of THOSE explosions sans JP8? Then, after one studies the looped-video collapse of the Tower embedded on Richard's AE911Truth site...I would ask that attention be drawn to the lower left-hand corner near the end of the collapse sequence. One can observe several - but one significant - explosive plumes that emit upward and outward from the center of the Tower. These plumes reach skyward, arch and peak, and then fall back toward the earth by virtue of gravity. If every action has an equal and opposite reaction, and when one reflects on projectile-motion properties - I would ask what (obvious) forces existed that created those plumes. I believe aerial pics of this collapse clearly show multiple plumes emanating from the center of the Tower, virtually encircling the core like Medusa dreadlocks. Frankly, there are so many fundamental aspects related to laws of science that prove beyond any reasonable doubt that their was controlled demolition - I'm flabbergasted as to how so many in the engineering/architecture/scientific community can possibly remain on the sidelines when the 'rationale' for far too many hideous, global realities was-is-remains all-things 911.

I was always wondering about how they could collapse under the circumstances... since, while growing up, we used what was known as primus which is a kerosene burning appliance.. (kerosene is the major component of jet fuel). While cooking using kerosene in the most efficient manner (hottest possible flames), the appliance was made of very thin steel and our vessels were also very thin. They did not melt or distort ever, even when used for hours. When I saw the collapse of Bldg. 7 (several years later) that clinched it for me.

I was a field office design architect in the office of Edward Durell Stone Assoc., during the 4-year construction of the 80-story Standard Oil of Indiana (now Aon Center) in Chicago. It was built using the same WTC structural system. I believe a steel tube structure cannot totally collapse due to fire without extensive use of explosives.

It has become clear to me that the official story, that describes the reasons for the 911 WTC building collapses, is fundamentally flawed. There are hundreds of gaping anomalies and unanswered questions. The most obvious question is how Building 7 collapsed. The much delayed explanation appears fraudulent. Similar very substantial issues remain with the Building 1 and 2 official reports. The most plausible explanation appears to be that of controlled demolition - for the destruction all three buildings. It is important that the truth is known - of what really happened. Most of all, this is owed to the families of the victims, who had to fight long and hard for the first official report - which was a dismal failure. A new investigation is needed imminently.

The official account of 9/11 is not credible. Steel does not melt in office furniture fires and airplane turbine engines don't vaporize. It would be like your BBQ grill melting if you put wood chips in it.

My knowledge of engineering principles tells me that the goverment's explanation for the collapse of WTC 1, 2 and 7 is inconsistent with the observed speed and symmetry of the collapse of those buildings. If the government's explanation was valid it should have significant implications for building codes and the way we design and build high rise buildings. Yet virtually no changes have occurred in structural engineering codes since 9/11/01. I am upset that an NFPA 921 investigation was never done on these three buildings, nor a proper forensic investigation of the structural components of these three buildings.

Being that 9/11 is one of the most formative events of our lifetimes (socially, legally, geopolitically, etc.), it seems imperative that the truth of the events be known. The official story has entirely too many holes, inaccuracies, and contradictions, making the need to reevaluate it self-evident. I graduated with a BS in mechanical engineering from BYU. I have studied heat transfer, kinematics, static and dynamic structures, as well as structures of materials. I currently work as a design engineer at a top aerospace engine manufacturer specializing in CAE tool development including finite element analysis.
I have an analytical as well as gut-level feel for how structures should behave under loads. WTC1 and 2 buildings were designed with redundant load bearing members for the explicit purpose to be able to absorb impacts from airliners as this was one of many design considerations at the time. The buildings should each have remained intact for longer than was witnessed below their impact zones - if a dynamic failure were to occure with upper levels impacting the lower levels, each structural framework in each floor below would offer some resistance, significantly slowing the speed of collapse compared against a free-falling body. The rapid speed of descent as seen in footage indicates no resistance in the members meaning something more was going on in the levels below the impact and fires. The clouds of pulvarized concrete billowing out during the collapse also raises flags. The amount of the dust generated is extreme and its pyroclastic behaivor indicates it had been superheated which is not readily explained in a simple collapse scenario. When I first saw the collapse of the towers on September 11, I was just out of high school and had basically no engineering background. In my journal that day I noted how it looked like the buildings were being demolished like the old casinos in Las Vegas. Concerning the complete casino-style collapse of Building 7, this was simply overt and is beyond suspicious. I hadn't seen the videos of Building 7 until several years later, but anyone who watches these videos is hard-pressed to explain the complete symmetrical collapse of the building with the top descending at near free-fall speed as a result of fires only.

My wife and I were horrified as we watched the live news reports of that day, particularly when we saw the second plane hit Tower 2. Over the next few days I continued to watch video replays of Twin Towers 1 & 2 and could not comprehend how both towers could collapse as they did. As a Structural Engineer, it made no sense to me how the structural framing system below the impact level did not continue to support the structure. It was only in the last few weeks, as I researched and found this site, that I found out that building 7 had also collapsed. I agree that it has the classic signs of a controlled demolition. Thanks to all of you who created this site. I am proud to be part of the cause to get congress to conduct a full investigation.

In the case of Building 7 I'm very confident that there was a true and very well studied implosion, demolishing the building so that it collapses straight down into its own footprint (the total area at the base of the building). This feat requires such skill that only few and very experienced demolition experts in the world will attempt it. Among other evidences, the way and time of the building collapse indicates a previous study of the building structure. The motion during the fall was almost vertical and therefore cannot be by hazard, or even caused by a fire, because all supports must be cutted at the same time, or in a specific way that the columns at the center of the building are cutted before the other columns so that the building's sides fall inward.

I believe that we have not been told the whole truth about the skyscrappers destruction. Evidence collected on that day clearly point toward some kind of controlled demolition in addition to the plane crashes. The explanations that have been given by governement officials do not explain what can be observed on the video fottage collected on 9/11. Somethings have not been told, information is being kept from the public.

It is my view that a truly independent investigation about the episodes concerning the collapses of the WTC buildings is required. The official 9/11 Commission Report does not provide a satisfactory analysis: it has omitted evidences and its argumentation scheme has strong value assumptions and ambiguities that make its conclusion not acceptable from my critical thinking perspective.

Being part of the scientific community I simply find the official explanation for the mechanics of the desruction of these buildings not physically possible.

My area is in water resources, but the basic CE curriculum provides enough basis to understand the physics and structural evidence presented by the experts. My software simulation background tells me that simulation results without knowing the inputs to the simulation are meaningless. That NIST is secretive about their methods casts grave doubts on their reported results.

My decisions are always based on logic, facts, and evidence. When you look at the MASSIVE amount of facts and evidence around 9/11, a reasonable, rational person can only come to one conclusion. It wasn't just the planes...

I have been a consulting engineer for 20 years. My main area of expertise is in land development and infrastructure design. I have had some limited exposure to structural design of bridges and small structures.
As an engineer it is hard to refute the evidence that this appears to have been a controlled demolition. It seems to me that there were just too many things that had to occur at exactly the same time for the collapse to have occurred solely from a plane hit.

I don't believe that the three buildings came down as a result of fires. They were steel buildings, and, from what I have read, jet fuel does not burn hot enough to burn steel. Also, the free-fall of the buildings appear to be that of a controlled demolition, not due to fires. The buildings came down so fast, and without stopping at each floor level, which doesn't seem possible, unless the columns were pulled out, as would have been done to start a controlled demolition.

It wasn't until 2009 that I came across issues related to Tower 7. Prior to that, I barely even recalled that there was a third structure that collapsed that day. I have not been involved in a tower demolition yet, however I've built enough concrete, steel and composite high-rise buildings, from planning and design to ground-breaking through hand-over, to understand and appreciate methods needed to bring a building down in a matter of seconds. I am mostly interested in finding out how and when the towers were prepared for such a demolition as that activity alone is 1.) is extensive and time-consuming, and 2.) on its own, enough to substantially weaken the buildings and render them unfit for occupancy. I am convinced that the official story is indeed untrue and an independent investigation is warranted and appropriate.

I believe the evidence is overwhelming that the destruction of the Twin Towers and WTC 7 did not occur as the 'official' narrative suggests. I call on the American people to demand answers!

I`m a 25 year old engineer working for the Canadian Federal Government in Motor Vehicle Regulations. I have obtained my bachelor`s degree at Ottawa University in 2009. I have designed a steel structural chassis for an amphibious vehicle which was fully analyzed, designed, and documented with drawings for manufacturing of the parts.
The core column for the twin towers was a combination of massive steel rods and cement and were amongst the strongest steel columns in the world. A fire in open air could potentially have weakened the steel in the column at a single point on the 100-sotry buildings, although this is highly unlikely given the steel melting point is much higher than a fire by kerosene in open air. But the cement in the column would still have sustained the building upwards. The problem is the column could have flexed and broken at that point, but the building would have fallen sideways. The floors below were designed to sustain 10 times the weight of all floors above at full capacity. The only way the column could have collapsed upon itself is if it was brought to malleability from top to bottom simultaneously, including the skeleton structural steel rods. But this was not the case. And even if it was, all the floors, walls, and other structural components would have created resistance and the collapse would have been slow. What the evidence shows is that they collapse at free fall speed minus air resistance. This is only achievable in a controlled demolition which removes the matter with explosives before the above floors reach the ones below. This is not to mention building 7. You don`t need expertise to break that one down.

The scientific evidence seems overwhelming this appears to be a controlled demolition. Why is our government not investigating this?

The laws of physics also apply on 9/11. The way WTC1, WTC2 and Building 7 collapsed cannot be explained by just the impact of planes and fires. The video footage available (showing almost freefall) and other evidence clearly points to controlled demolition, a hypothesis that should be thoroughly investigated. The symmetrical nature and large portion of freefall speed during the collapse of WTC7 is even more puzzling as no plane ever hit that building.
