PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT:
On Behalf of the People of the United States of America, the undersigned Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth and affiliates hereby petition for, and demand, a truly independent investigation with subpoena power in order to uncover the full truth surrounding the events of 9/11/01 – specifically the collapses of the World Trade Center Towers and Building 7. We believe there is sufficient doubt about the official story and therefore the 9/11 investigation must be re-opened and must include a full inquiry into the possible use of explosives that might have been the actual cause of the destruction of the World Trade Center Twin Towers and Building 7.

Didn't seem right from the get-go. Spoke to an electrical engineer during an inspection on the morning of 11 Sep 2001. He had not yet heard that the two towers had collapsed, and couldn't believe, from the simple facts we knew at the time, that aircraft impacts could precipitate a collapse of the World Trade Towers. Soon the President announced names of the highjackers who had crashed the planes, and propagated the story of Al Qaeda as the terrorism perpetrators. Right, and a highjacker left a passport that survived the pulverization of the Towers! Too many plain tall tales and improbable explanations surround the circumstances of that day. Now we can begin to understand that, as Barry Zwicker's Towers of Deception book sketches out, the traumatic shock of the spectacular experience makes the mind need explanation, and the initial propaganda catapulted by Bush and the media that most people did accept as explanation even if tentatively, causes pain when contradicted by countering evidence. Statements of the A/E professionals here provide ample brief summary of that evidence.

I did not see uniform displacement, I see squibs. I hear too many eyewitnesses reporting explosions in different parts of the building. Clip of firefighters is key, boom boom boom all the way down, like a controlled demolition. More than one source reported that the firefighters knew bldg 7 was about to be pulled. Compare film of other controlled demolitions; building 7 was a planned, controlled demolition.

I worked in the World Trade Center for several years. It was seen by many as a trusted feat of engineering, but more importantly a safe place to work and view the City - even in sever windy weather. Not knowing, for sure, why it collapsed will forever leave scars and breed doubt about the safety of such structures. Not only those who lost love ones, but those who place their trust in new structures, need to know that everything of conjecture was thoroughly reviewed; that design, fabrication, and operation of new buildings breed out whatever weaknesses that could lead to such a collapse. The evidence clearly leaves in doubt that this was not done. Trust in our government is just as important. As it stands, how can the public trust their elected officials or appointed staff? A new, properly conducted investigation is critical to all concerned!

I believe that everything has a scientific explanation, and anything that defies a scientific explanation is either bad science or something that is not yet conventional science. In other words, if science can't explain it, either the effect is something that exceeds current methods of scientific measure or your data is bad and/or your assumptions are incorrect.
Seeing that the collapse of all three WTC structures can be explained with classical chemistry and Newtonian physics, any evidence of molten steel would indicate that a form of combustion much hotter than the burning of jet fuel caused the failure of the steel structure. When approaching maximum oxidation efficiency, such as in the inside of a jet engine, jet fuel will burn at close to 1500 'C, however, fuel burning under normal atmospheric conditions, even with significant updraft, could burn no hotter than 1000-1100 'C. The melting point of high carbon steel is about 1350' C, depending on the specific alloy. Even with prolonged exposure to the the heat of that burn could cause steel to weaken enough for it to bend and collapse under its own weight, it would not produce 'rivers of molten steel'. That sounds more like something that would have been exposed to a much hotter flame for a short duration, such as thermite. A rapid burn would also better explain the collapse that resembles that of a demolition. It stands to reason that if the twin towers failed due to steel failure due to heat, it would have fallen at an angle as it would seem highly unlikely that the entire structure at the burn floor would fail simultaneously. What is harder to explain is the notion that the collapse of the twin towers not only caused the fire at 7 WTC, but that it was enough of a fire for the building to collapse as though it were demolished as well. Finally, there is the cold fact that none of the gold which was in the reserve at 7 WTC was recovered. Gold doesn't disappear regardless of whether it was melted or not. Put simply, there are just too many 'strange' facts in this incident for the standing explanation to be acceptable by any person of science, regardless of discipline. The fact that the report was rushed and debris was removed from the site with what can only be described as haste, one has to think there is more to the story. A lot more.

The Pentagons strike left office furniture and a open book intact although officially - the intense fires were supposed to have vaporised metal. These are mostly small items, not large buildings, but I understand the concept behind the large building structural design. I believe that the buildings were intentionally brought down by pre-planted explosives and that the public was deceived by the use of non commercial jets. Building #7 is the Achilles heel, where you can here the count down to raze it, but it was not hit by any jet or missile. Also the Pentagon was not hit by a 767 or 757; there is just not enough of a hole in the building. I believe that it was a small cruise missile or other type of weapon.

Building 7 collapsed at free-fall acceleration. It was far from the North and South Towers so it should have remained structurally sound. We need to explore why it fell. It is obvious that they (building 1,2 and 7) has been blown up. The free fall acceleration and symmetrical collapse is impossible to get only using fires and flying debris. I had a college professor in structures who once said, and I paraphrase, Structures don't collapse from the mistakes that engineers design for....there are enough factors of safety to compensate for that...they collapse from what engineers completely miss designing for. - - - - When the towers collapsed, I was shocked and surprised, but attributed the collapse to the idea that...well...the engineers wouldn't have taken into account a large plane hitting them. Years later I discovered that they were indeed designed for a 707 hitting them. That got me thinking! - - Having spent many agonizing hours designing the structure for a church, I felt certain that the engineers of the towers would have overdesigned their structure to, if nothing else, still be standing until the last little old lady in a wheel chair escaped, unharmed. - - - - Call it gut feeling, with some practical engineering experience, but the idea of the tower collapses and especially the building 7 collapse being caused mainly by fires are suspect. The true cause or causes of these total failures certainly need to be re-investigated.

I observed the entire event and both collapses from my office window of 110 William Street facing West. What I saw bears no resemblance to what is portrayed as the mode of failure. When the top of the South Tower fell away to the East and down, I fully expected to see the jagged remains of the floors beneath still standing. I was taken aback when the smoke cleared and learned that the entire building had collapsed. It did not make any sense to me then and still makes no sense now.

The appearance of controlled demolition by use of explosives is more than overwhelming when viewing the collapse of the Twin Towers. The evidence of the vertical cuts on the remaing standing columns is very powerful and conclusive. I have researched jet that crashed at Skranston,PA. and find there are many inconsistencies with the crash scene as compaared to other similar jet crash scenes, the lack of black box data only being one of many. I have also researched the crash data at the pentagon site and found there many holes in the official explanation of this crash as well. There are far too many unanswered questions and omission of facts in the official reports for them to have any credibility.

The most blatant evidence that virtually anyone can understand with the help of a high school science background or reasonable common sense and intelligence is the fact that a modern steel-framed building cannot collapse at free-fall speed on its original footprint without the help of high explosives. The official analysis of the WTC building collapses does not account for observed data regarding the way the buildings came down. In addition, the collapse of building 7 is not sufficiently explained. It is my opinion that the simple collapse of steel columns supporting the upper portion of the two buildings (purportedly due to weakening by fire) and the subsequent fall of the upper section of each building would not generate the massive, immediate expulsion of debris in all directions from the buildings, and at the rate and distance from the buildings as was observed and recorded.

The amount of dust surrounding the buildings and as they collapsed, is evidence to me just in viewing this to prove there is no pancake theory, otherwise they would have been stacked up one on top of each other, or the wreckage would have been a huge pile of steel and broken concrete (not dust). Also, one of the towers was leaning over at quite an angle just as it started to collapse, and this leaning never continued. If it was a conventional building collapse, it would have fallen over, but it never made it to the ground without getting destroyed. Oh, and the fact that all these buildings fell at free-fall speed. Clearly controlled demolition. Building 7 is a clear example of controlled demolition, with large bangs and other claims by officials that the building was going to come down.

Upon receiving my BS in Chem.E. in 1980, I studied Linguistics at University of Michigan graduate school and have worked abroad as a translator of technical documents since 1984.
Because I consider the collapse of the three high rises at near free-fall speeds to be evidence of something else having gone on behind the scenes that day, most likely controlled demolition, even otherwise intelligent progressives consider me a tinfoil hatter now, most probably because of the recent National Geographic special. This is sad, but I believe that in time the psychological need to believe in the official theory will diminish, and the truth will be widely acknowledged. The most compelling evidence was broadcast worldwide repeatedly, ad nauseum. It will eventually be undeniable.

I've found that the greatest asset to my Engineering education has been practical experience, continued education, inquisitiveness and the willingness to step back from all situations and stand in my common-sense corner... and to assert logical questions from that reference point.
Within 10 minutes of witnessing the collapses via public television, it was obvious to me that these 3 (three) collapses were showing definitive characteristics of precise detonation demolition. AND, what's with the 3rd WTC building... that was definitely brought down by demolition charges. There's no coincidence here. Immediate doubt!

I don't believe the myths about the collapse of the three buildings. I believe it was a controlled demolition. Similarly, I don't believe that a passenger plane hit the Pentagon. I believe it was a cruise missile. I also question the rationale for a complete air defense stand down during the event.

The planes did not cause the collapse of the buildings; explosives did. The WTC buildings collapsed in a way very similar to a building rigged for controlled demolition. The official story did not adequately explain the explosions that many witnessed and heard at ground zero; the government even tried to deny it. There are just too many coincidences of events leading up to 9/11, starting with planes not intercepted to military personnel playing war games. It's not hard to see that those responsible are amongst those who benefited the most from this tragedy, including but not limited to big oil and private reconstruction contractors.

ONE steel building collapsing concentrically...very unlikely. TWO falling on their own footprint...ridiculous! THREE, on the same day in the same place? IMPOSSIBLE. For the first time in history 3 steel skeleton structures collapse for, supposedly due to some fires. But the fires are so small that they are only visible here & there. If the fires were so hot, the glass would have melted/shattered long before the steel making the so-called inferno clearly visible at every opening all around the buildings. The damage due to the planes was eccentric, so why was the collapse concentric? How did 3 steel buildings, allegedly in a condition of unstable static equilibrium, collapse in stable dynamic equilibrium? IMPOSSIBLE. I put aside all the ways in which it might have been done, Modern explosives placed at critical points would have done it. But put that all aside: The fact is that they were brought down; the physics & structural principles are incontrovertible. The method & reasons etc can be nutted out later. The 'squibs' which are officially claimed to be dust/smoke exhausting have too high a velocity for pumping exhaust...they emit at the velocity of explosive shock waves, equally all the way around. Just one other structural observation: At the Pentagon one evidence was supposed to be the bent over light-poles...so neatly leaning; from a 500mph aircraft impact?! Those light-poles would have been folded at the impact point, ripped out and left in a mangled mess some hundreds of metres away! So they were either toppled by small charges, or pulled over by ropes tied to a truck (the previous evening?). There is more structural observations I could make, but the above have not been stressed enough on your site, hence my comments. Please update your site to include/emphasize the above observations. The towers were designed to be hit by fully loaded jets. Would the designers be so negligent as to forget that those jets would be loaded out with fuel? Why have other steel skyscrapers burned, some over a dozen stories for hours and not collapsed? Why did the towers fall at free-fall speed? Why were the steel remains of the columns at bedrock melted?
