On Behalf of the People of the United States of America, the undersigned Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth and affiliates hereby petition for, and demand, a truly independent investigation with subpoena power in order to uncover the full truth surrounding the events of 9/11/01 – specifically the collapses of the World Trade Center Towers and Building 7. We believe there is sufficient doubt about the official story and therefore the 9/11 investigation must be re-opened and must include a full inquiry into the possible use of explosives that might have been the actual cause of the destruction of the World Trade Center Twin Towers and Building 7.

A rudimentary knowledge of physics and in particular Newton's laws of motion is all that is needed to realize that all three collapses could not have happened as we have been led to believe. It is simply not physically possible for a structure to collapse at near-free fall speed and, at the same time, pulverize all of its concrete and steel into tiny fragments; there is not sufficient energy available to achieve both results simultaneously. A collapse at near-free fall speed would require that there be absolutely no internal resistance within the structure to hinder its acceleration under gravity. Buildings such as these are designed for combinations of extreme loads that include earthquakes and hurricanes with a sizeable factor of safety thrown in. On a calm day, for buildings with lower than full occupancy, each of the WTC towers' strength capacity was quite likely five to six times higher than that required to support its actual applied loads. Each of the plane impacts were toward the tops of each of the Towers and, of course, the buildings get very considerably stronger toward the lower levels to support the loads applied from above. For this massively strong support structure to just crumble away at near-freefall speed would have required immense amounts of explosive energy; the 'collapses', quite simply, cannot have occurred any other way! There is no doubt that there were vast quantities of extra energy applied to the structures to achieve both rapid collapses and complete destruction of their components. This energy can realistically only have come from explosive charges. Anyone who views the videos can see that the Twin Towers exploded outward and upward during their collapse, quite simply impossible in a pure collapse scenario. The chances of the three buildings collapsing symmetrically into their own footprint, at near-free fall speed, by any other means than by controlled demolition, are so remote as to be beyond even consideration. 9/11 is an event that has changed world history and the lives of millions, mostly for the worst. I do not want to sit back and pretend it was one thing, when I know with 100% certainty it was something quite different. The greatest crime of all time must be subject to the best investigation of all time!

No skyscraper has ever collapsed from fire before or since, not even the empire state building, which is made of brick, collapsed during WWII when it was hit by a B-52 bomber full of munitions. Jet fuel only burns at roughly 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit while it takes at least 2,500 degrees to melt steel. None of the official details add up.

I have a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia, Canada and eleven years of professional experience. Currently I am a senior engineer for a Danish company that makes wind turbine blades. I am part of the Composite Mechanics group that is responsible for determining and documenting the mechanical properties of the materials and substructures that are used in the blades. I am also currently attending a masters level fracture mechanics course at DTU (Danish Technical University) in order to become more specialized within my field. Previously I have worked in Vancouver, Canada with hydrogen fuels and their cooling and exhaust gas dilution systems and in Melbourne, Australia as an engineer designing industrial wheels and castors.
From my understanding of solid mechanics, I don't see how a steel constructed skyscraper can collapse under it's own weight at near free fall speed within it's own footprint. Steel is a ductile material and a space frame construction that is overloaded in compression will bend, buckle and twist, but will remain essentially as one structure. In my opinion, the failure mode observed for the twin towers can only be explained by a series of controlled explosions.

9 years ago I started as a teacher on a primary school.
The greatest concern in my opinion is the time frame in which everything happened. Everybody was confused and didn't know what happened but already a few hours after the attack a whole story was sold to the public. A real investigation would have taken months to come to a conclusion. And that's exactly what the planners wanted. To make sure that a truth was offered to the people so nobody would have to think for themselves. Judging all the research material its evident that it's impossible that all the columns failed at the same time. Unless you used thermite, of course...

I have always felt that it was very strange the way these major buildings with a huge number of steel columns could collapse so quickly in a cloud of dust. I appreciated reading the detailed accounts of the temperature discrepancies between those at which jet fuel burns and those needed to melt steel and also the concept that the heat would be transmitted along the columns. I read The New Pearl Harbor 2 years ago and found the discrepancies Griffen examined to make a lot of sense. When I would bring them up in conversation people just couldn't bear to consider them. I got the feeling they thought it was another JFK mystery and I was entertaining myself with crazy conspiracy theories. I really, really appreciate the work you are doing and I do want a Democratic Congress to conduct an investigation which includes information from the engineers and the historical record which provide the facts of these physical realities.

After researching much of the available evidence on the 911 tragedy, I can see that there is clearly further need for more investigation. The available evidence, even from the FEMA report itself, clearly points to the use of Thermate as an accelarant in combination with explosives, to bring down all three structures. The symmetrical nature of the hollow aluminum pellets of and high sulfide residue found throughout all three sites, not to mention the molten steel seen on much of the available video, points to accelarant usage as is used in other buildings that are imploded.

Looking at the footage on Loose Change confirmed my suspicion that the planes did not cause the collapses. I had frequently visited the twin towers during and after their construction and knew a little about their structure. I have since listened to programs on KPFA, particularly the interviews on Guns and Butter with Kevin Ryan, and read related material which have provided convincing details.

As a studio artist and Fine Arts teacher I have a strong family and educational background and ties to the natural world and its beauty. A strong bond with other living things was instilled in me from a young age along with a faith in the good humanity is capable of producing. Though this faith is often shaken by human events, I remain ever hopeful there is a higher level that we as individuals can in some small way help to achieve and will retain this philosophy of hope in my endeavors to raise my children and in my instruction of my students in school. I am always amazed at the ability human beings have to create marvelous wonders of art and engineering and remain optimistic that these abilities will eventually win out over the equal ability to destroy.
I am appalled at the lack of oversight in the removal of the debris from this crime scene and very surprised that the American people allowed their fear of foreign terrorists overshadow their search for truth in the actual cause of the total collapse rather than falling victim to their need for appeasement and immediate answers leading to a search for vengeful justice of the culprits.

The complete pulverization of concrete and human remains, the massive warping or bending of structural steel - it doesn't take an engineer to realize that typical structural malfunctions, interruptions or breakage can't cause this. Indeed, the meticulousness applied by Architects and Engineers may well be our best hope for finding the truth about 9/11, and for cutting through deceptive obfuscation, such as put forth by the Popular Mechanics initiatives.

From the horrifying moment of seeing the buildings collapsing on TV, I knew that it was a demolition job. Only difference is I am now questioning who did it? I agree with the evidence presented by Richard Gage. I call for democratic re-evaluation. Another area of investigation should be the airplanes; I am not convinced these were common passenger planes. Also the evidence in the damage done to the Pentagon gives rise to many questions.
